Clem Burke’s Joey Ramone Birthday Bash VIP auction

11 May 2011

Clem would like to invite everyone to participate in the auction of a special Joey Ramone Birthday Bash VIP package benefiting the Lymphoma Research Foundation.

Celebrating what would have been the 60th birthday of punk icon JOEY RAMONE, the annual JOEY RAMONE BIRTHDAY BASH will take place Wednesday, May 19th at The Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza.  Mickey Leigh, event organizer and brother of Joey Ramone, has announced this year’s lineup and a sell out Bash is expected again.

This special VIP package includes:
– Pair of tickets to Joey Ramone Birthday Bash
– Meet & Greet with Clem Burke, drummer of Blondie
– Access to soundcheck
– Reserved table in VIP area
– Official Joey Ramone Birthday Bash 2011 Tee shirt
– Richie Ramone signed drum sticks

Marking 10 years since his passing, the celebration will be headlined by Hugh Cornwell (of the Stranglers) featuring Clem Burke (Blondie) and Steven Fishman (James White and the Blacks).  Also performing at the Bash will be Black 47, Richard Lloyd, The Rattlers, Sunday Masquerade, and The Indecent.  As a special addition this year, Mickey Leigh plans to perform songs from Joey’s much anticipated forthcoming, second posthumous solo album.  The spectacular party will feature a Tribute To Joey Ramone with special guests offering up their renditions of Ramone’s songs, and — as in previous years — will conclude with The Joey Ramone Birthday Bashers.  Expected to participate are Tommy Ramone, Richie Ramone, Bebe Buell, Ed Stasium, Andy Shernoff, Al Maddy, Walt Stack, Walter Lure, Richie Stotts, and Mickey Leigh.  And, in what has become a Birthday Bash tradition, Sean O’Sullivan’s Punk Pipers will round out the night with their rendition of “I Wanna Be Sedated” on bagpipes.  The Masters of Ceremony for this year’s fete will be Steve Craig from 101.0 RXP, Matt Pinfield of WXRP radio, and Sirius/XM Satellite Radio’s Steven Van Zandt.  Additional surprises are anticipated at the evening’s events.

Clem’s auction is available for bids now and is one of the four VIP packages available to support this great cause in honor and tribute to Joey Ramone, friend and legend.  Bidding ends May 19.  Standard tickets for this event are also available through Ticketmaster.
